Infectious laryngotracheitis (ILT)
Herpes virus cause respiratory disease in chickens. The course of the disease varies with the severity of lesion but most bird recover in 10-14 days
The symptome
- wet irritated eye
- sneezing , nasal discharge , difficult breathing , bloody discharge from nose & mouth , gasping , coughing
- decrease growth & egg production also decreased
P.M. lession
- trachea is often very bloody or may be clogged with mucus & blood
Prevention
- avoid moving any birds onto or off the farm during an ILT outbreak
- do not visit other poultry producers during an ILT outbreak
- disinfect & clean of the equipment
